It’s a super summer tote bag sale here at Part of It!
A selection of new and classic designs are marked down for a few weeks to celebrate the warming weather. Enjoy!

… and it’s bound to bring out the grins! Designed by Justin Fines, who churns out good works under the moniker DEMO, the “Smile” bag is a charming reminder to show some pearly whites and break out the heart-shaped paint. Justin has designated the Heidelberg Project in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan to receive a portion of the funds from sales of this tote. The Project is an incredible outdoor art project/living museum that uses recycled materials and found objects to create a unique environment, helping residents to reclaim the structure and fabric of their neighborhood, and demonstrating the transformative nature of art and creativity.
Demo’s “Smile” tote is now available from Part of It, $20.00.

New stock at Part of It has arrived, friends!
If you’re planning a trip to the seaside or your favorite surfing spot this summer– or perhaps a seashore soirée on a warm spring day, this tote by the mega-talented Jim Datz is perfectly suited to accompany you on your expedition. Jim has designated the Algalita Marine Research Foundation as the charity which will benefit from sales of this tote. Honestly, it’s a perfect accessory for holiday hijinx, affectionate octopus lovers, and supporters of the deep blue sea! We heart it, and hope you will too. Available now from Part of It for twenty clams (that’s $20.00 to you landlubbers).

Part of It contributor Mike Perry has a new solo exhibition, The Patterns Found in Space, up at Giant Robot in New York City. The show features more than twenty new works by Mister Perry, who is a master pattern-maker, author, illustrator, and all-around prolific graphic whiz. The show includes a pair of beautiful hand-illuminated Eames Rockers as well as a tasty assortment of original art works and prints.
Mike has a special place in the Part of It pantheon as one of our very first participants. His “It’s Just You and Me” t-shirt is an important work in the Part of It catalog, and we’re super glad to see him and his work in the spotlight!

We were super pleased to find an image of the Alphabet shirt that Daniel Eatock designed for Gluekit’s Part of It proect in his brilliant recent monograph Imprint (2008). For more insight into Eatock’s meticulous practice and his projects, check out Eatock’s website and, in particular, the section on Imprint itself.

New Part of It tote bag designs are indeed on their way! Above, a new design from DIY and Jim Datz’s most awesome “No Grief for My Reef” tote. Aw yah. Stay tuned for the actual launch and your chance to snatch up one of these lovely new totes!

Genevieve Gauckler’s Harmony Nature Future t-shirts are on sale now at a new low price– you can pick up one now at Part of It!

One of the designers involved with Part of It, the talented Mr. Garrett Morin, will be speaking alongside fellow Rad Mountaineer (and friendly dude) Damien Correll this Wednesday at the NYC Apple Store in Soho. Check out the event if you’re in the area! (Hosted by AIGA-NY.)
