“A Product of Design” // Exhibition at the Scion Installation LA Gallery

Posted in Artists, Events, Friends by Gluekit on September 10, 2011

Gluekit (the team behind Part of It)  is curating the show “A Product of Design” at the Scion Installation LA Gallery in Culver City. The show will be on view from September 17 to October 8, 2011 with an opening reception on September 17 which we’d love for you to attend! Please RSVP here.

The show is a celebration of the passion projects of designers we love, and we’ve brought together a number of our favorite designers to showcase their products and artwork. Part of It artist Geoff McFetridge will have some original artwork in the show– he’ll be showing with the skateboard company Solitary Arts, which he runs with Yong-Ki Chang. SA Family members Jef Hartsel, Bob Lake,  photographer Isaac McKay-Randozzi (Color Magazine, SLAP, Juxtapoz), and Mark Kushimi (owner of Contrast Magazine out of Hawaii) will also be showing their work.

Other folks in the show are: Ben Blanc Studio, Booji, Best Made Company, Colophon Foundry (all the way from the UK!), JB Classics, Hugo & Marie, Various Projects, and The Quiet Life.

Help Support Kenny Brimer

Yong-Ki Chang of Solitary Arts is raising money for his close friend, leukemia stricken skater Kenny Brimer. Kenny was tragically diagnosed with Chronic Lymphatic Leukemia and has been undergoing chemotherapy and bone transplant surgery. Yong-Ki is long-time friends with Kenny and has designed two benefit shirts for Kenny with Bad Brains and ROIR records that will help raise money for Kenny’s treatment as well as raise awareness about leukemia in general.

Solitary Arts will be selling TWO shirts beginning this Tuesday, April 6. Each shirt is only available in a limited edition of 48, so they are very special (and the money will be going to a great cause). The shirts will be on the official Solitary Arts label and the graphic features original/official Bad Brains and ROIR Records logo as well as Kenny’s own artwork on the front and back of each shirt.

Please support Yong-Ki’s efforts and Kenny’s on-going fight against cancer. Here’s the official info:

Rock it.
